Elmo is a 4 year old male Springer X Staff
He has been a lovely dog – full of energy and has so much love to give.
Recently we lost both of the elderly cats he has grown up with and that coupled with injuring his back legs and then some frightening experiences around bonfire night Elmo has become very fearful and started to become aggressive.
We are hopeful this behaviour can be resolved, but due to having a young child we are unable to keep him in our home much longer for fear of her safety.
We have started Elmo on Behavioural training and will continue to do so until he can be rehomed. He is also starting on reconcile in the next few days to hopefully help boost his mood and enable him to take on board the training with a clearer head. He is currently on metacam for the potential pain he might still be in and we have been advised it might be worth getting some X-Rays of his hips / back legs to see if there are any signs of hip dysplasia.
Elmo is extremely loving and loves a cuddle and kiss, he loves a bely rub and his favourite snacks are boiled eggs, carrots and cucumber! He also loves some chicken and hot dogs for a extra special training treat!
I think Elmo has developed separation anxiety since the star of the year and he would be a lot happier with someone around most of the day. Where we live there is a lot of noise and constantly people walking past which seems to be making Elmo more anxious.
Please contact me if you are interested as we would need to have a conversation about Elmo and we would need to be sure that you could look after him and meet his needs.
