Fox Terrier Rescue UK
Fox Terrier Rescue UK has been rescuing and re-homing Fox Terriers (and associated friends!) for over 35 years. The dedicated volunteers collect dogs from all across the UK – and find suitable, loving and caring homes.
The Rescue operate the rule that no healthy animal is put to sleep. All the dogs are loved and cared for by our volunteers until they find their forever home.
We are non-political and non-campaigning, our only concern is the welfare of Fox Terriers (Smooth and Wire) – two breeds we love and are devoted to.
The Fox Terrier Rescue receives no money from the government and relies entirely on voluntary contributions to carry out its work. We work closely with other like minded organisations and are often asked to collect Fox Terriers from other rehoming organisations.
Why Adopt A Fox Terrier
Fox terriers are classic little firecrackers. There are two main types, and both are smart, bold, and very opinionated:
- Wire Fox Terrier: Wiry, rough coat with that iconic scruffy face, super expressive, almost cartoonish but need regular grooming (hand-stripping or clipping)
- Smooth Fox Terrier: Short, sleek coat, slightly more low-maintenance grooming-wise but the same big personality in a shinier package
They’re high energy, curious, and fearless (they forget they’re small). Very intelligent but independently minded (training works best when it’s fun). They have a strong prey drive (they were bred to chase foxes, after all) but are loyal and entertaining … but certainly not couch potatoes
So, the fox terrier is a great fit if you like an active, clever dog with a sense of humour and don’t mind a little stubbornness!
Fox Terrier Rescue UK – Meet Our Dogs
There is always a need to rehome Fox Terriers – we try to list all current dogs on this page: https://www.foxterrierrescue.co.uk/adoptables/
If you see a fox terrier that you are interested in giving a permanent and loving home to please download and complete the REHOMING FORM for dogs that are only named and available on website and send by email or post as directed on the above page.
Please do not just fill out a Rehoming Form without adding the name of the dog you are interested in, If the dog becomes adopted and unfortunately it wasn’t yourself then you must reapply naming another dog.
When adopting a Fox Terrier or any dog it takes a lot of Time, understanding, patience and love before you see the best from your adopted dog ,who doesn`t know who you are and why he/she has been placed with you. If you don`t have those above qualities or even one of them is missing don`t get a dog, you are not doing that pet any favours.
We also have an active Facebook Group that you may wish to join.
On the Fox Terrier Rescue UK website you’ll also find lots of photos and updates on the fox terriers we’ve successfully rehomed – it’s always fantastic to see these rescues enjoying a fantastic life in their new forever homes.
