Pawprints to Freedom is a team of volunteers working tirelessly to prevent suffering and help dogs in awful circumstances. We operate primarily in Romania, rescuing dogs from kill shelters and other horrific situations, before rehoming them in the U.K. We are so lucky to have kennels based in the U.K. to support our rescue dogs once they arrive.
Here at Pawprints to Freedom, we dedicate our lives to making a difference to street and shelter dogs, with the hope that one day we no longer need to. We started with a small idea back in 2017, to help one dog a month have a better life. Eight years on, we are a registered charity consisting of over 100 volunteers. We have rehomed thousands of rescue dogs into loving homes, saving so many lives.
Our mission is to improve the welfare of rescue dogs in Romania, so we focus a huge amount of our resources to arranging spay campaigns and educational visits. The video below explains the extent of the problem and the work we do.

Pawprints To Freedom – Safe Haven Kennels
Our dream of running our very own UK kennels came true on July 15th 2021 when we opened the doors to Our Safe Haven kennels in Nantwich, Cheshire.
The name Our Safe Haven came from our desire to accommodate some of our more shut-down dogs who were not coping in the shelters in Romania and be able to provide them with a safer and quieter environment that would allow them to flourish.
Our kennels also provide backup for any dogs that might find themselves coming back to us and a safe space for UK dogs that make their way to us.
It has always been our dream to have a rescue centre in the UK where our potential adopters can come and get to know their new family members before taking them home.
