Dizzy Chihuahua Rescue UK
Dizzy Chihuahua Rescue was set up in memory of Dizzy, a little 15 year old Chihuahua who was abandoned in a car park and left to fend for himself. He was in an appallingly poor condition, dirty and unkempt, unable to walk or see and with infected eyes and mouth, he would not have survived alone.
We were privileged to have given him a safe and happy home and showered him with love and affection before he very sadly died, leaving a huge gap in our lives.
We wanted to keep this very special little dog’s name alive and to help all those little Chihuahuas in need so the Dizzy Chihuahua Rescue was formed.
We list our Chihuahua’s who are available for adoption on our website or you may like to join our well supported Facebook group.
Why Rescue A Chihuahua
Chihuahua’s are wonderful dogs – tiny body, big personality!
People love a chihuahua because
- They’re super affectionate and bond hard with their human and love being close to them (lap dogs basically).
- They don’t need much space so are great for apartments and city living.
- Exercise needs are low so short walks + playtime usually does it.
- They have a long lifespan, often living 14–18 years, sometimes longer.
- As a watchdog they’ve got plenty of energy – they’re alert and will absolutely let you know what’s up.
They’re packed full of personality, strong opinions, stubbornness and can be confident, funny, loyal and fearless little companions.
So, if you like a dog with personality and sass then consider adopting a chihuahua and think Dizzy Chihuahua Rescue – visit our website, meet our “guests” and fill in our adoption form.
Please note that applications for our dogs are only accepted using this official DCR Application form.
Why Dizzy Chihuahua Rescue
We are a non profit organisation run be a small team of passionate volunteers all of whom are dedicated to the welfare of chihuahua’s across the UK.
We list all our dogs who are available for adoption on our website along with as much information about them as possible from our assessment after time spent with us. We have both long haired and short haired Chihuahua’s of all colours, sexes and ages. We’ll let you know if they’re house trained, what they’re like with other dogs and cats and how they are with children. We’ll also describe their personality and behaviour to help match you with the right dog.
We have also published The Dizzy Chihuahua Rescue guide to ‘Adopting a Rescue dog’ – if you’re new to dog adoption we recommend that you read this short guide as it will prepare you for what you can expect and how to help your new best friend settle in to a new forever home.
Obviously everything we do is out of love for the chihuahua but it comes at a cost and hence value any support you can give us. There are lots of ways you can get involved and support our efforts from sponsorship, donations our purchasing from our shop … all support is truly appreciated. To get involved please visit our “Dizzy Chihuahua Rescue – How To Help” page.
We are still fundraising for our Dizzy Chihuahua Rescue dogs. Our costs are ongoing and when we have an emergency request to help a dog, we always try to say YES! So if you can spare a few pennies, it would be very much appreciated
Dizzy Chihuahua Rescue Stories
We have some wonderful chihuahua rescue success stories and case files like little Minnie who was found at 5 weeks old, malnourished, covered in sores, stuffed into a bin bag and dumped in a bin, Lola who arrived at age 11 months with quite a few health issues and had been relinquished because of a ‘heart issue’ and poor little Topsy who had never been loved or cared for and came into rescue in terrible condition with scars on her body and with her mouth and teeth badly infected.
Dizzy Chihuahua Rescue – Thank You
