Staffie and Stray Rescue (SSR) is a dog rescue Dorset that was founded in April 2014 and started out as a one woman’s passion to make a change in the world with the mission to save the Staffies.
We particularly specialise in taking in more difficult dogs that are considered in the rescue world “harder to rehome”.
About Staffie And Stray Rescue – Dog Rescue Dorset
Staffordshire Bull Terriers are very misunderstood and one of the most abused breeds, our rescue team know the breed well and have devoted our lives to saving Staffies – and of course any dog that needs our help.
We adore our Staffies and want you to fall in love with them too!
We advocate to change the negative perceptions towards this breed and most importantly promote responsible dog ownership as this is so often where the problem lies. Through campaigning, we hope to encourage more people to rehome the breed. The Staffordshire bull terrier is known to have the nickname “the nanny dog” as a result of the breeds affinity with children.
Although predominantly a Staffie rescue, Staffie and Stray Rescue will never turn away other dog breeds that need our help.
If you are interested in adopting a Staffie, or any other dog, then please get in touch – you can meet our current dogs awaiting a forever home here: http://staffieandstrayrescue.co.uk/dogs-needing-homes
Adopt From Staffie And Stray Rescue – Dog Rescue Dorset
As we said, whilst we’re mainly about Sttaffies, we never turn away any dog that needs our help and so we always have a variety of dogs looking for that loving forever home and so, for dog rescue Dorset, we’re the place to start!
We have a thorough programme for fostering or adopting a dog. This allows us to ensure that you and your dog are prepared for each other. We will help you come together and continue to provide the help and support you need in the future. Learn about responsible ownership, read about our success stories or see the dogs that currently need new homes.
The Stsffie and Stray dog rescue Dorset adoption process is simple:
We will then get in touch and arrange a home check to ensure your home is suitable for the dog and have an informal chat with you. You and your family will then get the chance to meet the dog you are interested in (there could be several meetings depending on the dog).
If everything goes OK on adoption day, there will be a contract to sign and you will become the new owner of the dog but we will be on-hand to offer ongoing advice as you settle your new dog into your home.
Note:
- We will ensure that all dogs are flea, wormed, micro chipped and vaccinated.
- Our dogs will also be neutered/spayed, if they are too young to be neutered whilst in our care, we will cover the fees for your dog to have this compulsory operation.
- Sorry, we do not rehome dogs with families who have children under 6 years of age.
So, for dog rescue Dorset, please visit our website and get in touch – your new best friend could be waiting for you.
