The Red Foundation Dachshund Rescue

The Red Foundation was founded in 2017 when the Dachshund community came together to raise funds to rescue and spay an 18 month old female Dachshund named Red. Since then we have become an ever growing team of dachshund owners committed to helping dachshunds and dachshund cross breeds from any walks of life find their forever home.

Our mission is to protect the health and well-being of every Dachshund in our care, and this is very important to us. We are also advocates of the breed and take our role as social educators very seriously.

Once a dog is rehomed by The Red Foundation, it will remain a Red Foundation dog for life. There are various reasons why a dog might need to be re-surrendered to us after an adoption has taken place, and we are committed to ensuring any dog who comes into our care can not be passed on to a third party without our knowledge. This forms part of the adoption contract all adopters sign.

Adopting A Dachshund From The Red Foundation Dachshund Rescue

If you’re considering adopting a Dachshund from Red Foundation we would first of all encourage you to read our “Points For Consideration” before you make the formal application.

We would also encourage you to do your own research on the breed and read our Adoption Page along with the two features: “Is a Dachshund the right dog for me?” and “Owning a Dachshund”.

If you’re happy with everything and want to apply to adopt a Dachshund from Red Foundation then simply move on to the application form to get your name on the list.

Please note that we have a large database of people wanting to adopt a Dachshund. We will hand select a short list of potential adopters for each case based on the information you supply on your application. This ensures the needs of the dachshund are fully met. This is paramount to the work we do, to ensure a successful placement, but this means our re-homing process is not a first come, first served basis. Once you register with us you may get a call in a week, a month, a year. We will not re-home to you if you are not the right placement for the dog, no matter how long you have been on our database.
