Rescue Dogs For Adoption – Adoption Process
At Rescue Dogs For Adoption, we believe adopting a rescue dog should be a simple and joyful experience. That’s why we’ve designed our process to be legal, easy, and stress-free for all our adopters.
Step 1: SEE A DOG YOU LIKE ?
Seen a dog you like and can give it a nice forever home? Contact us for an informal chat on whatsapp or messenger or phone call. We can put you in contact with past adopters to reassure you your adoption is safe and secure.
Step 2: ARRANGE A LIVE VIDEO MEETING WITH YOUR DOG
We ask for a £50 GBP which is your deposit to facilitate this. This deposit will be taken off of your adoption fee if you choose to go ahead. If you do not then this will go towards helping the dogs our charity supports.
Step 3: YOUR DOG IS PREPARED FOR ARRIVAL TO YOU
We book the dog a cabin on our “Happy Bus”. U.K DEFRA approved transport and all U.K official paperwork is prepared. We ensure the pets passport ,vaccines and blood tests are complete and the dog is fit to travel to you. We bring your dog to your door …..Simple as that ! We continue to support you when your dog arrives.
About Our Rescue Dogs for Adoption
All of our rescue dogs for adoption are currently in small foster home rescues in Bulgaria NOT living in public shelters. We are committed to ensuring their health and well-being before they make their way to their new homes in the U.K. Here’s what you can expect when you adopt from us:
Health, Socialisation and Safety First
- Fully Vaccinated and Neutered: Every dog is fully vaccinated and neutered prior to adoption, as required by law. This helps to ensure that they are healthy and ready for their new homes.
- Preventative Care: Our dogs receive regular flea, tick, and worming treatments to keep them in good health and free from common parasites.
- Comprehensive Health Checks: Without exception, we provide blood testing for all of our dogs. This testing checks for tick-borne diseases, heartworm and optional aCanine Brucellosis blood check to ensure they are disease-free and healthy.
Lifetime Support and Backup
We are committed to supporting our adopters and their new pets throughout their lives. We provide lifetime support and rescue backup, ensuring that you and your dog have access to advice, resources, and help whenever you need it.
Adoption Fees
Our U.K. adoption fee starts from £700. This fee covers all vet costs, documentation, customs fees, and transportation to the U.K. For larger dogs, an additional fee may apply to cover the cost of a double crate size on the transport, as required by Welfare Standards in the U.K. and Bulgaria. Your dog comes with a complete profile of blood tests performed to ensure you recieve a healthly dog (UK cost of these tests would be an average of £240 + castration average £300+ ) add passport, vaccinations, chip and transport …………..a rescue dog is not expensive.
Why Adopt a Rescue Dog from Bulgaria and us?
Most importanly our dogs do not live in shelters, they live in homes with people and other dogs, they are social and a lot of time is spent with them to test them in the home enviroment prior to being offered for adoption. Adopting a rescue dog from Bulgaria is not only a wonderful way to add a loving companion to your family, but it’s also great value. If you were to pay for all of these tests, vaccines, and procedures in the U.K., the cost would be significantly higher than our adoption fee. By choosing to adopt from us, you’re also helping other dogs in Bulgaria who are waiting for their chance to find a home. Your support helps feed and prepare these dogs for their new lives.
