(1ST Pic is of Kira on the street the day she was rescued)
Both are around 3.5 to 4 years old, very sociable dogs. Kira was rescued from the streets and had clearly been run over, she had a nasty break on one of her back legs that had healed. Isaac was rescued from a horrible kill shelter a few months later, from the moment they met at our pension it was love at first sight. They just bonded in a deep friendship, which has been heartwarming to watch.
PLEASE READ Kira was nursed back to health and has seen two professors of Orthopedics, independently of each other. One shortly after rescue 2 years ago and the 2nd one recently and both concurred with their expert opinions. Kira is not a candidate for corrective surgery, this would cause her more harm than good and lead to disability, it would almost certainly shorten the leg and create unecessay pain and on going problems. Kira’s leg has moved into a good position, she has build good strong muscle around that leg that gives good support. She’s very mobile, no issues with it, however she cannot be over exercised (she would run all day long if you let her) Exercise must be carefully managed, no 2 hour or longer hikes, she can run for short periods, play normally like all other dogs without any problem.
Isaac is a typical friendly Labrador, happy go lucky and very sociable, they are both super dogs, quite affectionate, good with people and all the dogs they currently live with in their pension in Serbia. Both have had a rough start in life, thrown out by hunters as deemed gun shy and not suited to working life.
We are looking for a rural or semi rural home with plenty of outside space (large enclosed garden) Must have experience of HPR breeds and understanding of working dogs, they need mental stimulation as well as physical exercise. Not suited to a home that is very noisy or that work full time, must have time for training, be confident in training or be willing to attend Gun Dog traing and maybe do the scent training classes. A home where they will be true members of the family and not just a pet, absolutely no working dog homes please. They will make a great addition to the right home, we really don’t want to split them up. Home checks will apply.
